Deemed ‘a fine singer with guitar work reminiscent of the cult hero Nick Drake’ by the New York Times, Andrea Von Kampen is known for her captivating melodies and introspective storytelling. After releasing a handful of EP’s, Von Kampen released her independent debut album ‘Old Country’ in 2019 and her sophomore album ‘That Spell’ with Fantasy Records in 2021. Her third full-length record ‘Sister Moon’ was recorded in the winter of 2023, focusing on themes of climate change, the connectedness of nature, and the stories of Richard Powers.

After the release of 2026’s cover of ‘Master & A Hound’ by Gregory Alan Isakov, we caught-up with Andrea ahead of her headline show at Brighton’s Folklore Rooms on Friday 14th August. This date marked her Brighton pit-stop on a UK run of shows, which saw her visiting Newcastle, Birmingham, Glasgow, Sutton (London), Northampton and more. Travelling across from Nebraska, we were excited to be invited along to her Brighton show to talk through her tour highlights, plans and announcements for the remainder of the year.
